– Meeting called to order at 6:00 PM.
– Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
– Previous meeting minutes were read.
– Brief introductions were made.
- New Business
– President Jeff Matusik thanked members for attending our final meeting of 2025.
– Current membership totals: 149 household members and 4 business members.
- New Topics for Discussion
The La Porte County Convention and Business Bureau
The La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau donated $25,000 to help support invasive aquatic plant treatment. The contribution is part of the Quality of Life/Quality of Place initiative to protect the lake for both community and visitors. The association will actively work to preserve lake health.
La Porte Yacht Club Donation
– The Yacht Club donated $3,900 to the Association this year for our general fund.
Community Engagement
– The LaPorte Lake Association will sponsor the Light up the Lakes Festival.
LARE Grant
– Vince Dinoflo, Corey Huber, and Leland Travis participated in a meeting in regards to funding.
City Partnership
– Jeff Matusik discussed future ideas and plans to participate with the city of La Porte..
Kabelin Drain Issue
– Scott Barrowdale provided background information on the Kabelin drain . No testing likely until spring.
